What contaminants does it reduce?

It uses the same activated carbon filtration system that the OEM brands use. Certified to NSF/ANSI 42 for chlorine taste & odor. Independent lab tests also show reduction of particulates (Class I), some common industrial chemicals (e.g., benzene, chloroform), and certain heavy metals. Retains beneficial minerals Produces clean, fresh ice and water.

How often should I replace it?

Replace every 3-6 months or 200 gallons—whichever comes first. Heavy water use or noticeable taste/flow change can mean it’s time sooner.

How do I install the new filter?

Instructional Video

  1. Locate the filter in the refrigerator.
  2. Remove the old filter by gently
    rotating it 1/4 turn to the left.
  3. Write the installation date on
    the new filter as a reminder of
    replacing the filter within 6 months.
  4. Remove the cap from the filter.
  5. Align the arrow on the bottom of the
    filter in the horizontal position and
    insert the filter into the filter housing.
  6. Rotate the filter 1/4 turn to the right
    until it stops and is locked into place.
  7. Run water through the dispenser for 2.5 gallons(about 5 minutes) to prime
    the filter before use. Discard the
    purged water.
  8. Reset water filter system.

Will this void my refrigerator warranty?

Using non-OEM filters does not void a manufacturer warranty in the U.S. (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act). Just follow the install steps and change on schedule.
